High-precision encoders for the food industry

Hengstler encoders are used in dairies and bakeries as well as in the packaging industry. For use in the food, beverage, or packaging industries, Hengstler offers incremental encoders and absolute encoders, available with both solid shaft and hollow shaft designs.

The incremental encoders offer resolutions from 14,400 steps to 40,000 steps and up to 10,000 pulses per revolution. Thanks to numerous flange and connection options, users have complete flexibility during installation. Hengstler absolute encoders for the food industry stand out for their high precision, great robustness, and low energy consumption. They are available with a resolution of 22 bits (singleturn) or 12 bits (multiturn) and can be used in a wide temperature range from –40 to +100 °C.

All Hengstler absolute encoders for the food industry feature multiple interfaces (including CANopen, EtherCAT, BiSS, Profibus) and are therefore highly configurable. The ACURO® AC58 absolute encoder is even equipped with the Profinet protocol 4.2, making it suitable for IIoT applications.
