Sustainable Investment by Hengstler GmbH at Headquarters in Aldingen

Hengstler contribution to electric mobility and sustainable transport

HENGSTLER E-Mobility and E-Charging Station

For about two months now, a new vehicle in the Hengstler GmbH fleet has been attracting special attention. The vehicle fleet has been expanded with an electric car, which is the ideal addition, especially for short distances. With this, Hengstler’s management hopes to further promote electromobility. Many employees who have already had the opportunity to drive purely electric vehicles have expressed great enthusiasm. It was therefore a logical decision not only to expand the fleet but also to create a charging facility. The basic requirement, however, was extended usability, meaning it should be accessible outside the company premises, even when the factory gates are closed.

After several negotiations, the result of this initiative can now be experienced firsthand at Uhlandstraße 49 in Aldingen. It is the first charging station in the region provided by a private company for public use. According to e-mobility experts, it is an innovative concept that should serve as a model. In addition, the brand-new LS3.0 model is the first system outside the Stuttgart test region.

Hengstler is ahead not only in terms of electromobility. For years, the conventional vehicle fleet has also prioritized economical drives, meaning no vehicle has an engine displacement greater than 2,000 cc. The entire Aldingen site is connected to the local district heating network. The company’s own forest also contributes to low-CO² production. A few weeks ago, Hengstler passed the TÜV Süd ISO certification with flying colors for both the headquarters in Aldingen and the production site in Kežmarok, Slovakia.

These initiatives are not an end in themselves but rather an effort to treat the environment as carefully as possible. The newly insulated roof ensures more efficient use of resources, and the window renovation program also plays an important role. The newest building at the headquarters in Aldingen dates back to 1966, but thanks to continuous ecological improvements, significant energy efficiency gains have been achieved while maintaining ongoing production.
